All I want for Christmas is low self-esteem

Ho, Ho, Hoes!
Don't let it be said that Men Going Their Own Way lack Christmas spirit. On the MGTOW message boards today hanzblinx asks the rest of the fellows to "suggest a holiday gift for my gf." Nothing fancy, just something that makes her feel special. Well, not that special. Actually, not very special at all:

OK I know the first answers will be..

apron
oven mitts
mop
dustcloth
g-string

but what exactly can I get my GF for Christmas for about $30 that would not inflate her ego too much? Is there a book? A CD? Anything?

Hmm. Given that she's dating a dude who hangs out on the MGTOW message boards, I wouldn't think there would be much danger of hansblinx's alleged girlfriend having an excess of self-esteem, or really any at all, but what sort of gift do you give a gal that will help keep her ego permanently deflated? A framed picture of a female friend you think looks prettier than her? Sexy lingerie several sizes too small? A "Does My Fat Ass Make My Ass Look Fat" bumper sticker? An "I'm a Cunt" t-shirt? A "Shut Your Whore Mouth" needlepoint kit?

Actually, that last one sort of rocks.

  3. Wait, I thought the idea of MGTOW was to not have girlfriends.

  4. Miggytows don't have actual "girlfriends" - he's referring to his RealDoll (google it) if he's a miggy of means, otherwise, just your standard inflatable "love doll."

I kind of like the Shut Your Whore Mouth kit also. Perhaps displayed in the kitchen?

Not true... that is feminist slander only.

Many MRAs have girlfriends or wives.

  6. I guess I could understand why dude is having a problem choosing what gift to buy. If you don't like the person and are only dating them for sex and free maid service, it's tricky.
The g-string is a bad idea, she might get the idea that she's good in bed and move on to someone else.
The apron is a bad idea, she might like to cook and eat and then she'll gain 5 lbs. OH NO!
The all around 'I think you're inferior and are only here to serve me' gift would be the mop. I'm voting mop.

  7. I wonder what the girl will buy for the boy.

Who says - as we are all equals - that gifts are moving only from the boy to the girl?

About girlfriends and wives, this is what MRAs really like. MRAs are straight people. There are also female MRAs btw. These are women who like the idea to have a husband and to create a family.

Feminists are more into single mother - sperm donor, lesbian couples, ladyboys and similar relationship.

Cooking is not what feminists really like, and most professional and successful cooks are men, check out 5-class restaurants and hotels.

About free maid services, feminists are known to employ housemaids, usually filipinas or latinas to do shopping, cleaning, laundry for very little pay in return.

  9. Yohan, of course I know MRAs have girlfriends and wives. But I thought Men Going Their Own Way was about Men Going Their Own Way, without women.

This isn't a feminist propaganda problem, I don't read feminist sites. It's funny that you always see the world through that lens.

  10. Further proof that they're basically a message board for abusers. I mean, who but an abuser seeks advice on how to give a gift to meet a minimum requirement so she doesn't have an excuse to leave, but to make sure it's one that sends the message that she's undeserving of love?

  12. I love how Yohan is all, "The feminists are misrepresenting abusive men!" and then proceeds to list out a bunch of completely inaccurate generalizations about feminists. Congrats, dude. That is an impressive amount of cognitive dissonance you've got going on.

  13. The best thing about feminism is that it means whatever you want it to mean, when it's convenient for you to have it mean that!

I second this. The MRM isn't known as the Abuser's Lobby for nothing.

  16. Feminism represents a spectrum of views; MRA's just have a tendency to focus on the extreme end of militant man-hating feminism (which undeniably exists) and to characterise all feminists as proponents of this view (which they undeniably aren't). It's not terribly complicated to understand that large movements have different factions (Christianity, for instance, has hundreds), so I assume this is a deliberate misrepresentation on the part of some MRA's to fuel their own paranoia.

There is no 'party line' in feminism, so the most one can expect is that individuals remain consistent in their own interpretation, not that they all agree with each other's. I expect this point will be lost on many radical MRAs; bigots rarely comprehend nuance.

Militant man-hating feminism does not exist everywhere.

The most hateful feminism you will find in USA/UK. It's not everywhere like that.

A good example of hateful US-feminism is this blog of DAVID, which was solely created for the purpose to slander ALL MRAs, regardless their arguments, regardless from which country, even considering FEMALE MRAs as 'enemy'.

    http://equalbutdifferent.blogspot.com/2010/10/i-have-been-declared-enemy.html

Of course, what response do you expect from men in return?

There is no 'party line' in feminism

Similar to your example, Christianity, there is a party-line. Either you are a Christian or a Muslim.

You cannot be both, despite both religions are rather similar to each other.

You cannot be a Christian and a Hindu at the same time either, despite both religions are rather different to each other.

The party-line of feminism is clear. It is about to sell equality, while no equality exists, it's about selling water for men and wine for women for the same price, claiming water and wine are the same because you can drink them.

Everybody, who questions this 'party-line' is considered to be an enemy.

    See my link above.

Well, you are posting here, in David's Manboobz, which is truly an US-feminist propaganda hate-blog at its finest.

MRAs always recommend to read feminist blogs. - And compare them with MRA-related forums.

This thread is about a 'gift'. It's solely about a 'gift' from men to women.

Interesting, feminists talk about equality, but never talk about a gift from a woman to a man.

    ReplyDelete
  19. No it's not, Yohan. I read this blog because I used to read MRA sites and became frustrated and disgusted, so I gave it up.

Of course women should also give gifts to men. Only the straw men in your head think otherwise.

For sure long-term marriage/family with an honest man has not much value in the feminist mindset.

Feminists are telling us they do not need us. OK, so please go your own way... or admire an exciting thug-boy or run after rich celebrities.

Feminists on the radical side even wants to kill us or to keep us in cages. But not all feminists are like that.

For most feminists, men are like tools, use them and if broken take the next one.

Marriage/divorce turns out often to be a very lucrative business.

Of course men who are going their own way after being disappointed and badly cheated by feminist women, are either MRAs or idiots or both...

  21. Eoghan, that statement is baseless.

  22. "A good example of hateful US-feminism is this blog of DAVID, which was solely created for the purpose to slander ALL MRAs, regardless their arguments, regardless from which country, even considering FEMALE MRAs as 'enemy'"

Yohan, how do I slander "ALL MRAs" by quoting the words of particular MRAs and MGTOW? In the case of the person here, he's posting in an MGTOW forum, so it's pretty clear that's what he is. I didn't say he represented ALL MRAs; I actually didn't say he was an MRA at all, because for all I know he doesn't consider himself one, though I imagine he probably does.

Also, why does it matter that I critique FEMALE MRAs? Why shouldn't I, if I disagree with them? What difference does their gender make?

Anyway, shortly after complaining I'm slandering ALL MRAs by quoting some of them, you launch into a series of ludicrous, and completely unsupported, generalizations about feminists, including this:

"For most feminists, men are like tools, use them and if broken take the next one."

I should assemble a "greatest hits" collection of your strangest assertions about feminism. They get more bizarre by the day.

  23. Sandy, don't bother responding to Eoghan. I banned him for being disruptive/repeatedly misrepresenting other people. Blogger doesn't let you ban individual commenters (without moderating all comments, which I don't want to do), so if he comments here, as he sometimes still does, his comments will remain up until I see them and delete them.

I do not know who is EOGHAN.

Well, you are signing up with a fake-ID, as obviously you are a coward to use your real name in our forums.

Next, you disregard a huge part of our MRA-forums totally, and pick out ONE comment (one out of maybe 500.000) usually from the members-only RANT-section, then you delete and edit what fits you and add your own words...

Finally what you post here is totally out of context.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yohan, I know you're not Eoghan, Sandy was responding to a now-deleted comment of his. Though what she said applies to many of your comments as well.

I signed up under a different name so I could read the NiceGuy forums without having my account deleted (which Cold has repeatedly called for on that site).

I link back to every comment I quote so anyone who registers at the site can easily check out the context. If you want to make it easier for people to check out the context, you should probably convince the guys running the site to make it readable to members and non-members alike.

As I have noted at least once before, I have never quoted from the "rants" section (though I may someday), nor have I "added my own words" to anything I have quoted, except to clarify something that's unclear. Any edits I make are clearly indicated with ellipses and any words I add to clarify anything are clearly indicated by brackets.

Once again, your whole comment is basically unsubstantiated bullshit. As are the rest of your comments in this thread. And many if not most of your comments on this site.

One of the reasons people confuse you with Eoghan is that you post stuff that is similarly full of unsubstantiated nonsense, and you don't seem to understand or even read much of what you're responding to.

  26. Man, what are the odds that two people would have the exact same opinions as well as names that are pronounced exactly the same? It's almost like they're a set of twins whose mother deliberately gave them interchangeable identities and OH MY GOD IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW.

Yes, I can definitely see how someone (or two people) could walk out of that situation with some angry ideas about women. But guys, you don't have to project! I mean, yes it's unfortunate that you were raised in what amounts to a bizarre, lifelong social experiment, but not all women are like that! If you judge all women based on your mom's weird methods of raising the two of you, you're just viewing all women interchangeably. Like she did to you! Don't you see? YOU'VE BECOME HER!

We're... we're through the looking glass on this one.

  27. DAVID: I signed up under a different name so I could read the NiceGuy forums without having my account deleted (which Cold has repeatedly called for on that site)

What a weak ridiculous argument is that.

    About the Niceguy-Forum:
To delete an user-account in the NiceGuy forum requires full administrator rights.

Only a few persons have full administrator rights. Moderators, including myself, cannot delete accounts.

There are sections for opposing views within the Niceguy-Forum.

We are not into deleting, editing or banning anyway. We are MRAs.

About deleting or banning you better ask feminists for advice.

..... you should probably convince the guys running the site to make it readable to members and non-members alike.

There are some sections which are open to everybody to read. If you are interested into more openly MRA-stuff, please sign up.

We do not expose our forum to anonymous feminist trolls, who are showing up solely for the reason to post insulting comments to members who are telling us about their personal problems.

SAM: Yes, I can definitely see how someone (or two people) could walk out of that situation with some angry ideas about women. But guys, you don't have to project! I mean, yes it's unfortunate that you were raised in what amounts to a bizarre, lifelong social experiment, but not all women are like that!

NOT ALL WOMEN ARE LIKE THAT!

The problem is however, if you meet a woman who is like that, what will you do as a man in such a situation?

Will feminists help me? Will feminists defend me against a malicious woman, who wants to harm me? Good question.

I don't think so, and the only place where you can talk undisturbed with somebody about your problems as man are still the MRAs and their forums, and not the feminists with David as their cheerleader...

  28. @Yohan

"Who says - as we are all equals - that gifts are moving only from the boy to the girl?"

Why Yohan, nobody at all said that. Because this is a post about one individual guy and his individual comment on what he is buying his girlfriend. Your leaps of logic are absolutely adorable.

You're complaining about 'feminist agendas' in places where it is completely irrelevant and inappropriate to the original posts.

(And I also don't consider myself a feminist nor do I read their sites. I like this blog because it's funny and is highlighting how the MRA is about women-bashing to a much larger degree than it is about actually doing anything about men's rights issues.)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yohan, uh, do you ever read anything that you respond to? Are you honestly asking Sam what he'll do if he meets a women who raises him from birth as an identical twin with an interchangable identity with his brother "Sahm?"

Congrats, grrl. You reap what you sow.

    Just one question:

If you treat men like shit all the time, in any aspect of life, in education, justice, within the family etc. how can you be surprised about men reacting with what you call 'cognitive dissonance'?

Do you really think, men MUST accept and agree to all and everything to their disadvantage solely because it's coming from women?

    ReplyDelete
  31. "Congrats, grrl. You reap what you sow."

Boyzz would do well to realize this, too. But no, keep on believing that feminism occurred in a vaccuum, that informal and institutionalized male dominance is either an illusion or the natural and rightful order of things.

"If you treat men like shit all the time, in any aspect of life, in education, justice, within the family etc. how can you be surprised about men reacting with what you call 'cognitive dissonance'?"

Why are men so surprised and outraged about women reacting to that kind of treatment?

"Do you really think, men MUST accept and agree to all and everything to their disadvantage solely because it's coming from women?"

No, but it's interesting that men expect women to happily and thankfully accept and submit to the contradictory whims of men (eg., don't work outside the home because then you'll be stealing men's jobs, but don't be a housewife, either, because then you'll be a parasite on the fruits of men's labours)

  32. Reading these posts by MRAs is a fascinating exercise in examining just how skewed an individual's perception of reality can become. World leaders are predominately men. Take a close look at the US Congress and Senate. What's the gender ratio? And since over half of the incoming Congress wants to deny me the right to regulate my uterus, I hardly think we're dealing with "manginas" here. And anyone who thinks it's easy to get a man put away for rape or sexual assault, please, sit down and let me buy you a cup of coffee because I've got some stories for you.

I think I'm both fascinated and repelled by the strength of the denial on parade here. And David, have you thought about writing about the phenomenon of Biblical patriarchy in the States?

    ReplyDelete
  33. World leaders are predominately men...

Homeless, people in prison, people doing low-level jobs etc. are also predominately men.

You see only the top, and not the bottom of our life.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yes, the homeless are predominately men. Many are veterans, and that is a failure of the veterans' administration to address mental health issues. It has nothing to do with feminism. And yes, prisoners are also predominately male. Statistically, men are likely to commit violent crime. I believe that's a social failure. Again, it has nothing to do with feminism. It hardly can, since men also occupy most positions of power.

As for jobs, that's complicated. It's easier for men to enter the work force, so yes, many men work low-level jobs. But globally, men more likely to be educated. World unemployment disproportionately affects women (http://www.ilo.org/global/about-the-ilo/press-and-media-centre/press-releases/WCMS_091102/lang--en/index.htm) and the gender pay gap remains an issue. That's because men are more likely to receive salaried positions (http://www.unifem.org/progress/2008/vs_markets2.html#vstats).

So, sorry. But the demographics support my position. The status of men around the world is far more comfortable than that of women. It literally is a man's world.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Not sure where you are gettting your statistics on the homeless.

"In 2003, children under the age of 18 accounted for 39% of the homeless population; 42% of these children were under the age of five (National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty, 2004)."

"families with children comprised 33% of the homeless population,"

"Nationally, approximately half of all women and children experiencing homelessness are
    fleeing domestic violence"

"single homeless adults are more likely to be male than female"

    http://www.nationalhomeless.org/publications/facts/Whois.pdf

One of the reasons men get so much higher on homeless statistics is that single homeless adults and homeless families with minor children are generally not studied together. Homeless women are less likely to be counted as single adults and more likely to be counted as a homeless family in conjuction with their minor children. Homeless men are generally single adults, homeless women are generally the caretakers of minor children. Women have also been traditionally undercounted in homelessness surveys as homeless women are on average less concentrated in urban areas where these studies are performed in comparision to men. It is hard to get data comparing the general rates of homelessness between men and women, as most studies result in an overcount of one group's situation in comparison to the other.
